Radiofrequency skin tightening

Controlled dermal heating for firmer, tighter skin

From €200

Radiofrequency devices heat the dermis to a therapeutic temperature, contracting existing collagen immediately and stimulating new collagen over the following months. It is a no-needle option for mild to moderate laxity of the face, neck and body.

What it is

  • Radiofrequency energy passes through the skin and generates heat in the dermis. At 40–43 °C collagen fibres contract and fibroblasts are triggered to produce new collagen and elastin.
  • Micro-needling radiofrequency delivers the same energy through insulated needles at a controlled depth, allowing stronger remodelling with more downtime.

Who it suits

  • Mild to moderate laxity of the jawline, cheeks, neck and under-eye area
  • Skin texture, pores and post-acne scarring (micro-needling RF)
  • Patients who prefer a non-injectable approach or want to extend filler results
  • Not suitable with a pacemaker or metal implants in the treatment area, in pregnancy, or over active infection

Products we use

CE-approved medical-grade monopolar, bipolar and fractional micro-needling radiofrequency platforms

How the treatment is performed

  • Skin cleansing and, for micro-needling RF, topical anaesthesia for 30 minutes.
  • Treatment with continuous temperature monitoring across the mapped zone.
  • Post-treatment cooling, soothing serum and SPF.

Safety

  • Energy settings are matched to skin type; burns come from unmonitored temperature, not from the technology itself.
  • Contraindication screening for implants, pacemakers and pregnancy is mandatory.

Before your appointment

No sunburn or self-tan; pause retinoids for 3 days before micro-needling RF; arrive with clean skin.

Aftercare

SPF daily; no sauna, pool or heavy exercise for 48 hours; gentle skincare for 3 days after micro-needling RF.

Results and longevity

  • Immediate mild tightening from collagen contraction.
  • Real remodelling appears between week 6 and month 3 and continues for up to six months.

Possible side effects and risks

Redness, mild swelling, temporary grid marks after micro-needling RF; rare burns or pigment change.

Follow-up

Photographic assessment at 3 months and a maintenance plan of 1–2 sessions per year.

Questions about this treatment

Is radiofrequency a facelift alternative?

No. It improves mild to moderate laxity. Significant sagging needs surgery, and we will tell you if that is your situation.

How many sessions will I need?

Typically four to six surface RF sessions, or one to three micro-needling RF sessions spaced a month apart.

Can I combine it with injectables?

Yes, with correct sequencing — usually radiofrequency first, injectables two weeks later.
